Our Statement of Principle

We believe anyone engaged in the dialogue of life should state the principles from which they operate. Here are ours:
We are both systems engineers, meaning we believe that all things great and small are best understood when seen as systems composed of variously coupled components. A common denominator of successful systems is that their information content and control mechanisms are always distributed. Over time, stuff things, critters, skills, ideas, -- improves only through open competition and contention. Our universe appears to have worked that way from the git-go, so get used to it and don't listen to the demagogue promising salvation through the establishment of yet another great centralized nexus (bureau, department, commission, board) where knowledge and power will concentrate to peacefully guide and control everything to the greatest benefit to all.
  1. Not all historical ages, viewpoints, cultures, societies, values, mores, and even human lives are of equal worth to anyone on this earth. Some are better and/or more important than others, and that's pretty obvious.

  2. The MSM is left leaning and contrary to their claims does not provide "a balanced viewpoint". The pap and blather it sells is formatted for an audience that has yet to develop critical thinking skills. On the other hand, we don't lay any claim to providing a balanced viewpoint and are up front about it. Our commentaries will present non-collectivist perspectives and prescriptions based on reason which therefore makes them refutable by better ideas.
We intend the brew from our idea distillery to be a mite bracing at times but never syrupy, and in the end it should always refresh and give rise to a new thought or two. We hope to be enriched and improved by your reasoned thoughts. Please do us the compliment of commenting and responding.
